Joint Terminal Attack Controllers Course
Brigadier General Michael Hepner, 138th Fighter Wing Commander, and 138th Fighter Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant Thomas Payne, speak with students at the 138th FW Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) course, located at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma Army National Guard Training Facility. The school provides Air National Guard tactical air control party (TACP) students with the highest quality career field education and training in order to standardize and expedite the overall JTAC training pipeline. Students who complete the 8 week intensive program are expected to return to their home units ready for a combat mission ready TACP checkout. Training covers communications, shooting, small unit tactics, off road driving, equipment, navigation, and close air support basics. The training program was recently relocated from Ft.
