The 138th Fighter Wing celebrates their 2013 Outstanding Airmen of the Year

TULSA, Okla. - Senior Leadership from the 138th Fighter Wing hosted a luncheon and award ceremony to celebrate their 2013 Outstanding Airmen of the Year.

Oklahoma Adjutant General, Major General Myles L. Deering and Assistant Adjutant General Air, Brigadier General Gregory L. Ferguson, were on hand to present the honorees with their awards.

"Anytime you can receive recognition from your Wing Commander, it has to make you feel good. But, when the Adjutant General takes time out of his busy schedule to come down, enjoy lunch with you, and present you with an award that celebrates your success, that adds an extra special element to the day. Col Burgy and I, and all the leadership here at the 138th sincerely appreciate Maj Gen Deering and Brig Gen Ferguson for joining us. It's truly a testament to how much they really care about, and appreciate their Airmen!" stated Chief Master Sergeant Tom Payne, 138th Fighter Wing Command Chief.

The 138th FW recruiting office was honored as the Oklahoma Recruiting Office of the Year, with Master Sergeant Allie Truax being honored as Recruiting Supervisor of the Year and Technical Sergeant Kalley Hurst winning the Top Producing Recruiter of the Year honors as well as Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year.

Other awards included Senior Master Sergeant Greg Stratman, First Sergeant of the Year; Technical Sergeant Jason Castleman, Honor Guard Participant of the Year; Captain Evan Skinner, Company Grade Officer of the Year; Airman Michael Grimm, Airman of the Year and Master Sergeant Scott Hunter, Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year.
